You may be wondering what is the purporse of MyTymeCapsule.com aka MTC. In short, it is a social utility with an emphasizes capturing life's events in TymeCapsules. The TymeCapsule entries, that you create, are saved forever*. Months/years from now you will be able to return to your page and experience the thoughts, feelings, and emotions you felt the day you created the TymeCapsule. You can create multiple TymeCapsules in one day or just single entry. Unlike other social networks, the content that you add to MTC is categorized by date. In addition, on other sites, the content is only kept for a certain period of time. Not here on MyTymeCapsule! After midnight (your local time) your TymeCapsule entry is locked away forever*. Once locked, there are only few editing options available (explained in more detail below). It is really simple to get started. All you have to do is sign up and start capturing...

First, you must become a MyTymeCapsule member. To do so click here. Once you have logged in with your member ID, feel free to look around. You will find some of the same features that you have come accustomed to with other social networks; Status Updates, Photos, Friends, Groups, Chat, Events. But there are some others that you may not be familiar with

• TymeCapsule – allows you to capture moments in tyme by adding status updates, text, photo, video, etc
  • This is easily accomplished by using the Drag-and-Drop feature within the TymeCapsule area (explained in detail below)
• Google MAP – allows you to identify your location based on information in your profile
• Music – allows you to add music to your profile
• Winks – allows you to send emotion icons to other MTC Members
• Groups– allows you to create MTC Groups that others can join
• Events– allows you to create MTC Events– parties, weddings, graduations, etc

All of these features are available to you in the “My Apps” section.

TymeCapsule Features:

 

• Current Date and Time – This is important to notice, because at 12:00AM (midnight – your local time), this TymeCapsule will no longer be available for you to change. The content itself will be frozen. Though, at any point in the future, you will be able to delete the entry altogether
• Title and Category – Give your TymeCapsule a name and assign it to a category. It will assist in searching when you return 10 years from now to review.
• Drag-And-Drop - This area consists of recently created photo albums, events, and a summary of your recent activity. Any of the three areas can be added to your TymeCapsule simply by dragging it and dropping it into the TymeCapsule body
• Calendars – These calendars allow you to quickly jump to days where you’ve created a TymeCapsule entry. The dates that contain TymeCapsule entries are highlighted in Blue. The current date is highlighted in Red. The previous, current, and subsequent months are displayed.
• TymeCapsule Entry Area – This area is the main focus of MyTymeCapsule. Here you can add text, photos (photos within an album that you've already created can be added to your TymeCapsule entry. If the photos you intend to use are not alredy in a album, when you add them to your TymeCapsule, you will be promtped to create a new album), reference/link to websites, add videos/link to YouTube. The list goes on and on. Oh don't forget that you can add content from the Drag and Drop area. Take a few moments to get familiar with the tools and options listed above and along both sides of the TymeCapsule Entry Area.
• TymeCapsule Tagging - Allows you to tag your MTC friends in the TymeCapsule entries that you create. Your friends will be notified via email notification. In addition, your tagged friends' calendar will be updated to include your TymeCapsule

 

Now that you’ve created your first TymeCapsule you are now ready to post it, but wait!! Who do you want to be able to view and/or comment on your TymeCapsule. You can determine who can view and/or comment on your Tymecapsule by updating the Tymecapsule Privacy settions. Click on “TymeCapsule Privacy Setting”. This will display the current ratings (detailed below). Is this entry something that you would like to keep private and not share with the rest of the MyTymeCapsule community? If so, set the TymeCapsule Rating to “Only Me”. The TymeCapsule entry will only be visible to you. The opposite setting, Everyone, will allow everyone to view your TymeCapsule entry. Or you can select an option between those two.
